You redesign the calves by liposuction of the fat present in the lower leg.
Treatment: Eliminate fat on the calves
Having big calves and thick ankles weigh down the curve of the leg, which is particularly unsightly for women. They then opt for clothes that camouflage their morphology. They prefer wide pants, they avoid skirts too short or they may cover up with the latest fashionable boots.
Refining the lower leg with liposuction seems then the best solution. This is true when the large calves are the result of excessive localized fat. Unfortunately, when the muscles are too developed or there are circulatory problems that cause chronic edema, surgery can not do anything.
Demand is rarer in men who are naturally more muscular than women and accumulate little fat on the calves except when they are overweight.
The course of the procedure
Liposuction of the calves lasts between ½ hour to one hour. It is performed most often under general anesthesia with an ambulatory stay.
It covers several areas:
- The inner side of the calf.
- The outer side of the calf.
The incisions to introduce the cannula are concealed in the hollow of the knee.
The procedure is often performed on a thick ankle with a soft liposuction because the fat is very compact and must be gently removed.
Recovery
The patient wears compression stockings for one month to reduce the risk of bruising and edema.
It takes three to seven days to get back to work and a month to start again.
Operations associated with liposuction of the calves
To define the leg completely, knee liposuction and thigh liposuction can be performed at the same time as that of the calves.
Results: Find a slender half-leg
The legs find a slimmer look, the calf muscles are well drawn and the ankles are defined. The result is definitive after three to six months when the skin has returned to the new calf volume.
