Cervico-Facial Lifting

With age, the skin loses its elasticity and wrinkles, eventually broadening, make your face more weary and dull. The results of time are noticeable on your face in your thirties and become more pronounced throughout your life.

In your fifties, you observe a substantial loosening of facial skin, and your features are then marked by excess fat, notably on your cheeks. The oval of your face is now less clear and the jowls begin to appear.

A first consultation is systematically carried out prior to a cosmetic surgery operation. It is an opportunity for the doctor to hear more about your needs and desires. The doctor will also examine your face as a whole and tailor your treatment to your morphology.

Each surgeon has a facelift method of his own. However, certain basic steps will still be taken to contribute to the efficient run of the procedure:

• The surgeon will make incisions in the temples.
• Then extends them along the face to create a "U" shape. These incisions are located as close to the ears as possible in order to be as invisible as possible.
• Then, excess skin is removed and the skin is redraped.
• At the end of the procedure, the doctor applies a compressive (pressure) dressing around your head that you will have to wear at the clinic through the night.

After the treatment, you will note the presence of oedema and bruising on your face. Within a few days, these will disappear. You may experience some discomfort, but it can be relieved by taking medications.

The cervicofacial lift can be performed under general anesthesia which typically requires one night of hospitalization. This operation lasts between one and two hours.

The facelift significantly improves the appearance of the face. The re-tightening of the different anatomical components (skin, muscles, fat) of the face and neck helps the patient to regain their appearance from 10 years before.

After two or three months, the mirror already gives a clear picture of what the final result will be. The scars, still a little pink, disappear around the sixth month. The face looks relaxed and refreshed.

The result must be visible while being subtle with well camouflaged scars, an intact earlobe, flawless skin restoration without creases and, in particular, no esthetic incongruities that draw the eye.

A facelift typically lasts from ten to twelve years. A second procedure can be performed after this time, although in most cases it is not necessary. Indeed, the facial lift will not prevent the natural aging of the face.
