Would you like to look ten years younger? Are you fed up of wrinkles appearing on your face? This is one of the issues of this century, the aging of the skin. With the yield of life expectancy, nowadays it's a whole generation that is struggling with the issue of wrinkles.
Brands of all sorts hurry to boast the virtues of the latest fashion product, but one of the most successful facial wrinkle treatments is a facelift or cervicofacial lift.
Facelift procedure
With age, the skin loses its elasticity and wrinkles, eventually broadening, make your face more weary and dull. The results of time are noticeable on your face in your thirties and become more pronounced throughout your life.
In your fifties, you observe a substantial loosening of facial skin, and your features are then marked by excess fat, notably on your cheeks. The oval of your face is now less clear and the jowls begin to appear.
The whole face loosens from the sixties. You will notice more pronounced jowls, your neck starts to look like a turkey neck, and your whole face loses its oval form.
Today, the cervicofacial lift allows time damage to be reversed. It treats facial sagging and helps you to look 10 years younger. The face lift indeed tightens your skin at the level of face and neck. Such a procedure can restore physical and psychological well-being in people who are very impacted by aging.

Cervico-facial lifting: Description of the procedure
A first consultation is systematically carried out prior to a cosmetic surgery operation. It is an opportunity for the doctor to hear more about your needs and desires. The doctor will also examine your face as a whole and tailor your treatment to your morphology.
Each surgeon has a facelift method of his own. However, certain basic steps will still be taken to contribute to the efficient run of the procedure:
- The surgeon will make incisions in the temples.
- Then extends them along the face to create a "U" shape. These incisions are located as close to the ears as possible in order to be as invisible as possible.
- Then, excess skin is removed and the skin is redraped.
- At the end of the procedure, the doctor applies a compressive (pressure) dressing around your head that you will have to wear at the clinic through the night.
After the treatment, you will note the presence of oedema and bruising on your face. Within a few days, these will disappear. You may experience some discomfort, but it can be relieved by taking medications.
Facelift: the anaesthesia, duration, and hospitalisation
The cervicofacial lift can be performed under general anesthesia which typically requires one night of hospitalization. This operation lasts between one and two hours.
Facelift: results before/after
The facelift significantly improves the appearance of the face. The re-tightening of the different anatomical components (skin, muscles, fat) of the face and neck helps the patient to regain their appearance from 10 years before.
After two or three months, the mirror already gives a clear picture of what the final result will be. The scars, still a little pink, disappear around the sixth month. The face looks relaxed and refreshed.
The result must be visible while being subtle with well camouflaged scars, an intact earlobe, flawless skin restoration without creases and, in particular, no esthetic incongruities that draw the eye.
A facelift typically lasts from ten to twelve years. A second procedure can be performed after this time, although in most cases it is not necessary. Indeed, the facial lift will not prevent the natural aging of the face.
