These days, breasts are very popular everywhere. They've never been so exposed, whether they're used to selling perfume, clothing or a car. It is no wonder that they are symbols of femininity and seduction when they are round and well formed.
However, sometimes there may be a lack of volume, they may seem flat or even droopy. This phenomenon may cause discomfort and hang-ups for some women. Nowadays, breast surgery helps you to adjust your breasts with breast implants.
Breast implants: what are they?
Breast implants are prostheses that allow you to increase the volume of your breasts. This is usually done through cosmetic surgery, making it possible to reshape the cleavage of the breasts and, in some cases, implant placement may correct the malformation or asymmetry of the breast.
There are now several kinds of implants made up of two different substances that reproduce the texture of the breasts:
- With silicone gel implants, the shape stays stable and will still maintain its original shape even after mild pressure is applied. In addition, the strength of the gel is less fluid, which decreases the possibility of dispersion of the gel in the event of rupture.
- Saline implants are still not commonly used by surgeons. They can, in fact, make the chest look somewhat unnatural. As a result, the breasts may look squishy and some visible folds may appear beneath the skin.
The composition of the envelope of the breast implant is also very crucial. This makes it easier to change the breast implants and ensures that they stay solid. There are many different types of envelopes available:
- Breast prostheses made of polyurethane foam
- Silicon elastomer shells
Breast implants: the way the procedure works
Pre-Operation
Your surgeon is going to see you for an initial consultation. This gives him the chance to learn about your needs, your expectations and your past history. He's also going to be able to see if you have any contraindications to this operation. Ultimately, it will be possible for him to choose the breast implants based on the volume you are looking for and the desired effect.
The procedure
During operation, the surgeon will take some steps that will make it possible for him to deliver the best results:
- He will create incisions in the skin through the periareolar, axillary or sub-mammary route.
- He will then position the prosthesis in various positions according to the desired result: either under the mammary gland or under the pectoral muscle or using the Dual Plane technique.
- Once the breast implants are in place, the incisions are stitched.
- Finally, he puts a modelling dressing with an elastic bandage.
PRP Breast implants: anaesthetic, duration and hospitalisation
The duration of the breast implant is 1 to 2 hours depending on the technique used by your surgeon.
This procedure is subject to general anaesthetics. You need to stay in the hospital overnight, so you can go home the day after the surgery.
Breast implants: what are the results?
Results of a breast implant placement are instantly visible. However, you're going to have to wait two or three months to see the final results, before the swelling and bruising fade.
The quality of the result depends on the elasticity of your skin. In the same way, the breasts would be affected by aging much like natural breasts.
