Viveve®: Intimate Radiofrequency

The vaginal tissue is made of collagen fibres, just like the skin. After giving birth through vaginal delivery or with increased age, the opening of the vagina will gradually become looser. Vaginal looseness often causes problems such as urine leakage and loss of sensation during sexual activity.

Viveve® is suitable for post-birth and (pre-)menopausal women.

However, this treatment is not appropriate for women who have been fitted with an IUD. It should also be avoided during your menstruation.

Viveve® utilizes cryogenically cooled monopolar radiofrequency. As a result, the patient will not experience any pain or discomfort during treatment.

One 30-minute session is sufficient.

The doctor places the handpiece directly on the mucosa, stops in the first third of the vagina in case of vaginal looseness, and goes deeper into the vaginal canal to treat urinary incontinence.

The radiofrequency reaches the surface layer and affects the connective tissue at a depth of between three and six millimeters. The heat stimulates the production of fibroblasts and improves the production of collagen and elastin.

The radio frequency is acting in two ways:

• Firming up the pelvic floor around the vaginal opening by generating new collagen
• Increases vascularization of the vaginal tissue by improving blood flow and nerve connections by slightly reducing vaginal dryness. Viveve® should be combined with the MonaLisa Touch® laser for this specific symptom.

After the session, the swelling and redness will be mild for a few hours. The patient may resume normal activity immediately but should refrain from sexual intercourse for one week.

The patient will immediately feel an increase in sensation and will notice an improvement in firmness after one month. The peak results will be achieved after three months.

Clinical studies have found that 90% of the women treated are still satisfied with the outcome 12 months after the session.

After each Viveve® session, the patient may benefit from a Milta Gyneco treatment to reduce inflammation and improve the outcomes.
