The Radiesse®

Radiesse® is an injection substance based on calcium hydroxylapatite, a mineral ingredient naturally produced by the body. It fills the wrinkles, lifts the skin, and reduces the imperfections of the face and hands.

What is Radiesse®?

Radiesse® is an injectable implant composed of a synthetic-origin calcium hydroxylapatite (CaHA) microsphere suspended in a sodium carrier gel of carboxymethylcellulose. Its volume is about 30% of CaHA and 70% of the carrier gel.

CaHA microspheres are identical to natural minerals in bones and teeth. They naturally turn into phosphate and calcium ions, which are then metabolized by the organism. There is no chance of allergy or rejection.

Over time, the gel is absorbed and the fibroblasts are formed. The process of neocollagenesis that is thus begun promotes the gradual growth of the patient's collagen.

Course of the session

The length of the session differs according to the area to be treated. It lasts between twenty and thirty minutes on average.

When the skin has been cleansed, the doctor injects Radiesse® under the dermis. The injection is painless since the product includes lidocaine, a local anesthetic that increases the patient's comfort during treatment.

The side effects of the injection
