Profound® : Deep Skin Rejuvenation

Profound® erases the symptoms of aging without the need of a cosmetic facelift or injection of fillers.

Skin aging is a continuous, normal, physiological process that begins when you are 25 years old. The skin loses its elasticity and starts to weaken on the face and neck. The volume and appearance of the face gradually shift as the wrinkles deepen.

Profound® treatments:

• Loose skin (jowls, contour of the face, double-chin, folds of the neck)
• Wrinkles and fine lines (nasolabial folds, expression lines, wrinkles around the mouth)

Any other skin colors can be treated with no chance of depigmentation, with the exception of phototypes V and VI.

In the case of herpes, it is important to follow a treatment three days before and three days after the session.

This treatment is also forbidden to patients who suffer from psoriasis, eczema, etc. or who are on anti-coagulants.

The session is conducted under local anesthesia, followed by the application of numbing cream and lasts an average of two hours. A single session is sufficient

Profound® delivers non-ablative bipolar radiofrequency to the dermis (Dermal handpiece) or hypodermis (SubQ handpiece) utilizing sterile single-use micro-needles.

Radiofrequency heats skin tissue at 67 degrees for 3 to 4 seconds to promote the formation of collagen (x2), elastin (x5) and hyaluronic acid in the deep dermis, restoring the skin volume of the face in a completely natural way.

The heat passes through the skin and targets the layer of skin in which it is most efficient for rejuvenation.

• 88% of the heat in the dermis
• 10% of the heat in the hypodermis
• 2% of the heat in the epidermis

Clinical studies have shown that partially denatured collagen is far more efficient in activating neo-collagenesis than fully denatured collagen, such that partially denatured collagen can be reconstituted 38% faster than fully denatured collagen to deliver more consistent restorative action.

Dosimetry studies have shown that, in order to regenerate partially denatured collagen, an optimum target tissue temperature of between 67 °C and 74 °C must be achieved and sustained for three to four seconds.

Profound® is currently the only system that achieves the required thermal energy threshold (the correct temperature and period of maintenance of this temperature) to partially denature collagen and promotes restorative action for the remodeling of the dermis.

There will be redness and some papules on the skin for two days after the Profound® session. There is also edema for a week that is more or less significant depending on patients.

Women can put makeup the day after the treatment.

There is a low effect for three weeks and the final effects are visible after three to six months.

Radiofrequency recovers the skin's dynamic properties, regenerates elastin, collagen and hyaluronic acid, and restores the dermis volume loss.The skin is softer, smoother, firmer, plumper.

Profound® treatment has a success rate of 100 per cent for wrinkles and 95 per cent for loose skin, six months after the session.
